Downloading Flying Squirrel on Linux

Creating a Flying Squirrel bootable CD:

  1. Download the ISO image file.
  2. Burn the ISO image file to a CD.
  3. Insert the Flying Squirrel bootable CD in your laptop and power down.
  4. Boot your laptop using the newly created Flying Squirrel bootable CD.

Creating a Flying Squirrel bootable USB Drive:

This will improve Flying Squirrel performance.

  1. Insert the Flying Squirrel bootable CD in your laptop and power down.
  2. Boot your laptop using the Flying Squirrel bootable CD and wait until the system boots to the desktop.
  3. Execute the "Create LiveUSB" icon, a wizard will guide you through the process of creating a bootable USB.

    Warning: When you create the bootable USB drive, all existing data will be erased.

Note: Two partitions are created on the USB drive. The first contains the bootable OS image. The second partition is a user partition and can be used to store data. Flying Squirrel will automatically save wireless scans and user settings to this partition, which can also be accessed in Microsoft Windows.

Note: The Woodchuck Import Imagery Wizard is required to download imagery for the Linux version of Flying Squirrel
