The Applied Concepts in Materials Section addresses multidisciplinary problems involving expertise in several diverse technical areas. Specialized programs include the synthesis and characterization of advanced organic materials for use in novel self-decontaminating coatings; high energy laser lethality of materials and systems; materials for laser protection of eyes and sensors protection; chemical/biological warfare defense; dust abatement; and processable anhydrous proton conducting material. Efforts are coordinated and sponsored by Systems Commands and Joint Program Offices.
