- Atmospheric pressure counter-flow, co-flow, and variable pressure flat flame burners
- Cup burners and combustion reactors
- Spectrometers (vacuum UV, UV, VIS, IR, FTIR)
- Probe laser systems (LIF, Raman, LDA, PDA, PIV, near ir tunable diode lasers)
- Dedicated data acquisition and manipulation electronics and computers
In addition, the Section makes extensive use of facilities at CBD and the ex-USS SHADWELL including 28m3, 300m3 and 840m3 instrumented fire test compartments, and a highly instrumented mobile control room. The 28m3 and 300m3 compartments are constructed to accurately simulate shipboard spaces, but can be adapted for a broad variety of scenarios.
