Mission Statement:
The Center for Advanced Acoustic Concepts and Computation carries out innovative research and advisory tasks over a broad spectrum of topics in underwater acoustics and signal processing that are of critical naval importance. The principal functions are: planning and conducting research in the areas of underwater acoustics and signal processing; serving as liaison with fleet activities identifying transferable state-of-the-art research; developing and marketing new research programs to the appropriate Navy activity; identifying the NRL team/program appropriate to a new effort and then providing scientific oversight to their efforts; and providing advice and consultation to scientists and Government officials inside and outside of NRL in a variety of research areas such as propagation and scattering theory, signal processing, oceanography, and remote sensing.
