August 16, 2016, Duration: 4:00, A team of researchers at the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory have drawn inspiration from fish in developing the unmanned underwater vehicle, WANDA. Using artificial flapping pectoral fins for propulsion and control, WANDA achieves precise low-speed maneuvering and station-keeping capabilities for near-shore operations.
