WASHINGTON, D.C. - Developed for the U.S. Air Force (USAF) through funding by General Atomics Aeronautical Systems Inc. (GA-ASI), the MQ-9 unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is designed to execute time-sensitive targets with persistence and precision, and destroy or disable those targets. To expand on its mission and improve joint-service ISR capability, GA-ASI has teamed with the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory to implement an Inverse Synthetic Aperture Radar (ISAR) imaging capability in the GA-ASI’s Lynx Multi Mode Radar currently deployed on UASAF MQ-9 UAVs.
