Child Development Centers (CDCs) are military facility-based child care programs that typically provide care for children ages six weeks through five years.
School Age Care (SAC) programs are military facility-based programs that typically provide care to children enrolled in kindergarten through age 12 before and after school and during school holidays and summer vacations.
Family Child Care (FCC) or Child Development Homes (CDH) are home-based child care programs offered by certified providers who care for children in their homes on or off of a military installation. Each provider operates an individual program supported by an FCC/CDH office that provides training and oversight.
Child Care Aware works with the U. S. Navy Child and Youth Programs to help DOD military and Navy civilian families find and afford child care with a fee assistance program.
