    AEC (AW) Juliana L. Drach

Chief Petty Officer Juliana L. Drach was born April 29, 1978 in San Diego. On Sep. 2, 2008, she enlisted in the Navy and began her naval career as a recruit at Naval Recruit Training Center in Great Lakes, Illinois. She graduated from, Aviation Electrician’s Mate “A” School where she received an accelerated advancement to Petty Officer Third Class.

In August 2009, Drach joined the Navy’s fleet when she reported to Patrol Squadron EIGHT (VP-8) in Jacksonville, Florida where she completed three deployments in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

During her initial tour, Drach was designated as a P-3 Collateral Duty Inspector for Workcenter 220 and earned her enlisted aviation warfare specialist (EAWS) designation. During the same month, she was promoted to petty officer second class via the Command Advancement Program. During her second deployment, she revitalized the command’s EAWS program where her efforts yielded the reception of VP-8’s first ever EAWS pennant.

In August 2014, Drach reported aboard Fleet Readiness Center Southeast detachment Jacksonville, Florida. She advanced to petty officer first class in May 2015 where she assumed the duties as leading petty officer (LPO) and led 35 Sailors from Workcenters 62B, 62D, and 62E. In November 2015, while forging a cohesive force of Sailors and Level III Artisans, Drach established the first Fleet-wide P-8A Battery Intermediate Maintenance program.

In March 2016, Drach was handpicked to continue these efforts and launched the first P-8A Battery Maintenance Locker and Program based out of Okinawa, Japan, in support of forward-deployed 7th Fleet Naval Forces. Upon her return, she assumed the duties as LPO of 620 Branch and successfully led 54 personnel. In February 2017, she was assigned to Quality Assurance division where she quickly assumed the role of LPO successfully leading 19 first and second class petty officers in the quality maintenance efforts and Naval Aviation Maintenance Program management for 49 work centers and 41 programs. In August 2018, Drach was selected to the esteemed rank of Chief Petty Officer.

Drach transferred to Scientific Development Squadron (VXS) 1 in April 2019 initially serving as Branch Chief in the Aviation and Armament and Projects Division before assuming her current position as the Command Senior Enlisted Advisor in March 2020.

Drach holds an Associate of Arts degree from Florida State College at Jacksonville and is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Leadership from the University of Charleston, West Virginia.

Drach’s personal awards and medals include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (3 awards), and a variety of unit and campaign awards.
