Chief Petty Officer Frederick C. Lewis reported to Naval Recruit Training Center (RTC) Great Lakes, Illinois Navy on Feb. 25, 2004. After RTC, he attended Naval Aircrew Candidate School and Aviation Electrician’s Mate “A” School in Pensacola, Florida. Following “A” School, he reported to Patrol Squadron (VP) 30 aboard NAS Jacksonville, Florida as a student Flight Engineer (FE).
After graduating from FE School in November 2005, he was meritoriously advanced to Petty Officer Third Class and joined the “Red Lancers” of Patrol Squadron (VP) 10 in Brunswick, Maine. Lewis qualified as an Instructor FE, Naval Air Training and Operating Procedures Standardization (NATOPS) Instructor, AE Collateral Duty Inspector, and obtained his Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist designation on the P-3 Orion. While assigned to VP-10, Lewis conducted two deployments to
USINDOPACOM and
USCENTCOM AOR’s in support of Operations ENDURING FREEDOM and IRAQI FREEDOM.
In January 2010, AWFC reported to the “Pro’s Nest” of VP-30 as an instructor FE. In 2013, he received orders to Patrol Squadron (VP) 46 where he conducted three deployments to USINDOPACOM and USCENTCOM AOR’s in support of Operation INHERENT RESOLVE.
AWFC then transferred to Fleet Air Reconnaissance Squadron (VQ) 1, “The World Watchers,” where he was advanced to Chief Petty Officer. Lewis conducted five detachments to USINDOPACOM and USCENTCOM in support of Operations INHERENT RESOLVE and ODYSSEY RESOLVE.
Lewis transferred to Scientific Development Squadron (VXS) 1, May 2021, initially serving as the Operations Department Chief, then as the Quality Assurance Supervisor before assuming his current position as the Command Senior Enlisted Advisor in March 2022.
Lewis has accumulated over 6,000 hours in the P-3 and EP-3 aircraft and has been awarded three Air Medals, three Navy Achievement Medals, six Good Conduct Medals and various unit, campaign, and service medals.
Lewis holds an Associate of Arts degree from the University of Maryland Global Campus and is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree for Technological Entrepreneurship and Management from Arizona State University.
