    Working at NRL

The U.S. Naval Research Laboratory, or NRL, is headquartered in southwest Washington, D.C., with other major sites at the Stennis Space Center, Mississippi, and Monterey, California. As of August 2023, approximately 2,700 scientists, engineers, and support staff serve at NRL, which has nearly 100 years of contributing science and technology to the nation and warfighter.

Driving all of NRL’s innovations and successes are the highly motivated people who work here. It is these people who provide the talent, creativity, and sustained effort to turn ideas into realities in support of the Navy mission. We are committed to equal opportunity for employment, advancement, and recognition throughout all of our divisions, programs, and worksites and encourage and support all of our employees regardless of gender, race, ethnicity, national origin, age, disability, sexual orientation, education, religion, or work experiences.
